I am Jessica Hatcher, and as the President of the Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma
ThetaSorority, Inc., I am honored to carry on the legacy of our illustrious twenty –two founders and eleven charter members. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 on the campus of Howard University. The Lambda Zeta Chapter was chartered on March 23, 1974 as the first predominantly Black sorority at The University of Alabama.
With the cornerstone of our organization resting on Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service, Lambda Zeta is focused and devoted to upholding these ideals. Our annual Scholarship Ball, the Thankful for the Arts Program, our various community service programs, and the many forums that we conduct on the different issues facing our community are just a few of the ways that we support and advocate our surrounding areas. We also strive for academic excellence as we are constantly among the organizations with the highest grade point average within the National Pan-Hellenic Council. We believe that our mission is to serve and assist others by offering our support in any way possible and by offering a positive and active image to the community.
Thank you for visiting our website. I encourage and invite you to learn more about the Lambda Zeta Chapter by attending some of our events or by exploring this website. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Jessica Hatcher,
President of The Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
