The Lambda Zeta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. cordially invited the University of Alabama and the Tuscaloosa community to our second annual Thankful for the Arts, a celebration of artistic expression that was held on Friday November 13, 2009. Thankful for the Arts is a program designed to increase awareness of the arts and bring together people of different backgrounds, cultures, and organizations within the community. The program showcases art appreciation through dance, theatre, music, artwork, poetry, and various creative expressions. The program took place this year in Morgan Auditorium.

This year our theme was “Empowering the youth of our community through artistry.” In keeping with our organization’s commitment to service, all proceeds from the event benefitted the Westlawn Middle School music program. It was our goal to be able to bestow a gift of $1000. Tickets were $7 and went on sale Tuesday Nov. 3 in the Ferguson Center. We also sold tickets at the door on the day of the show. Thank you for your support of Lambda Zeta as we continue each year to support the arts. We look forward to your presence at future programs.
